Hello
I tell stories about real life, but with a fun twist.
Long ago in galaxy far, far away... well okay...it was in this galaxy... but I wanted to be an astronomer or an astronaut...so it did have a galaxy theme. I digress.
After leading my high school class as valedictorian, I won a prestigious Air Force Aeronautical Engineering Scholarship.
But insanely, I turned it down to study another love…musical theater. While still an undergrad at UC Davis, I directed and choreographed a fully staged rendition of the musical Romance/Romance. Then I worked as a musical theater actress and choreographer for several years before getting my MFA from USC's School of Cinematic Arts.
More Story...
I am a multi-hyphenate creator drawn to the messier moments in life when choices aren’t clear and people make bad decisions for some very good reasons. But hey, aren’t those the best moments in our lives?
From comedy to drama, I mix in genre-bending dashes of science fiction, fantasy, and dance. I feature layered female characters, and create works that challenge but ultimately redeem and inspire.
I was a finalist for the competitive Television Academy Foundation’s Episodic Directing Fellowship, The American Pavillion at Cannes and the DGA Student Award. My work has been featured in American Cinematography and my short CODA has over 1 million views on YouTube. An award-winning filmmaker, my work can be seen on streamers worldwide. I have screened at the prestigious Encounters International Festival (UK), LA Shorts, Diversity in Cannes Showcase, Nashville International Fest, Glasgow Short Film Fest, In the Palace (Bulgaria), and internationally in India, Russia, and Korea.
I have shadowed the coming-of-age series Good Trouble (Freeform), with actress/ director Constance Zimmer, the fantasy show Grimm (NBC) with director Terrence O’Hara and The Mindy Project (NBC) with directors Michael Spiller and Michael Weaver.
As an assistant editor, I have worked on the Emmy-nominated Hannah Gadsby: Douglas (Netflix), Ava Duvernay’s Queen Sugar (OWN), Middleditch and Swartz (Netflix), Beth Stelling Comedy Special (HBO Max), Creator Spotlight: Jackie Aina (YouTubeOriginals), and Miss America 2020 (NBC). I love to give back to my community and I am the VP of the Women of Cinematic Arts, a USC alumni organization
